There are small serendipitous moments in my catalog. The second LP by the unpronounceable SHXCXCHCXSH caught my attention in some new release listing. On clicking through to seek / find out more, I immediately recognized the cover of their first record, which had similarly struck my fancy (but I had ultimately passed over). While time, space and money are always concerns in collecting, I have to respect any artist that can grab my attention (especially more than once). While the SHXCXCHCXSH brand of industrialized techno minimalism my be trendy, it's also unforgiving. For as sandblasted as the music can sound, it's built on subtle shifts—sometimes just the bellows pumps of a single filter. It's a masterful shell game to keep drawing your attention back without any radical diversions.
