Post Industrial Boys, 2016
I have to believe Post Industrial Boys are ironically named. There is nothing I would call 'industrial' about this stately electronic pop—plus, it's just one guy. Everything about this LP seems tilted against the times. It's minimal and purposefully restrained. The sounds pointedly eschew any semblance of analogue: it's all clinically and unapologetically digital—which is not to say it's uninviting. Unintended's lack of bombast makes it uniquely living-room sized. It's a rare beast: an intimate electropop record.
