Secret Boyfriend, 2016
There's an uneasy drift to Memory Care Unit. It's as if old copies of Brian Eno's Music for Airports had been used as an ashtray and left out in the sun too long, so now is grimy, distorted, warped and skipping. It's ambient, in that its presence hovers and it morphs amoeba-like, but it refuses to dwell in the background. By subtle shifts of emphasis, each of these extended tracks has a distinct fingerprint. This is dark mood music for a quiet sunny saturday.
